    Job Opportunity: Senior Mechanical Supply Chain Quality Assurance Engineer - Rockwell Collins (Tustin, CA)

      Rockwell Collins' Supply Chain Quality Assurance is looking for a highly motivated individual to fulfill an opening as Senior Mechanical Supply Chain Quality Engineer at our Tustin, CA facility. Candidates should possess an Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace) degree and possess experience in Mechanical Design, Supplier Management, Quality Management Systems (QMS), Root Cause and Corrective Action, Continual Improvement, Data Analysis, Specification Review, Inspection Methods, and Project Management including team facilitation. Candidates must have excellent communication, organizational and time management skills, a self-motivated focus, and embrace the value of teamwork.

       

      Key responsibilities will include: proactive reduction and prevention of supplied material defect occurrences, supplier performance management, influence supplier selection, supplier quality risk mitigation, material validation, manufacturing supply chain quality support, root cause and corrective action reviews, leadership within supplied material performance organizational strategies, development/enhancement of Supply Chain Quality Assurance standard work, and Customer communications. This individual must be able to work and lead within cross-functional teams to meet and improve upon established supplier performance goals.

      Responsibilities include:

      • Analyzing performance data, and identifying opportunities for improvement
      • Leading cross-functional teams in pursuit of performance improvements
      • Verification of supplied material defect claims
      • Preventing/Minimizing business impact from supplied material defects
      • Submitting, reviewing, coaching, accepting supplier corrective action requests
      • Review and approve supplier (AS9102) first article submissions
      • Conducting on-site supplier engagements, including performance reviews and Quality System audits
      • Leadership – Capable of leading cross-functional teams toward a shared goal
      • Engaged – Consistently seeking ways to provide value and continually improve
      • Proactive – Voluntarily provides status of pending due date assignments, assures understanding of roles/responsibilities
      • Dependability - Exerts consistent effort to provide quality results
      • Detail Orientation - Consistently produces quality results while evaluating all critical factors
      • Judgment - Able to make well-informed business decisions
      • Relationships - Displays sensitivity and awareness of how his/her actions affect customers, suppliers and coworkers
      • Resolving Conflict - Deals professionally and firmly with conflict resolution

       

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline or in the absence of a degree six years of related experience
      • US Citizenship or Permanent Residence is required

       

      Must have requirements

      • Able to review and interpret technical specifications
      • Familiar with inspection methods, techniques
      • Root cause and corrective action experience
      • Able to analyze and present data with clear conclusions and/or next steps
      • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
      • 5 years Engineering experience (Design, Quality, Process, etc.)
      • Requires 0-25% Travel
