Extended Supply Chain 2010 is delighted to announce further details of the ‘Outsourcing manufacturing’ session to be delivered by Christian Verstraete, Chief Technologist of Manufacturing and Distribution at Hewlett-Packard.

For many organisations, outsourcing manufacturing seems the right thing to do to reduce cost and focus on core competencies. Unfortunately many companies often forget the “collateral damage” of outsourcing a critical component of the Supply Chain, when buying power may be reduced, visibility lost and agility restricted. Christian will explain how HP, by outsourcing more than 90% of its production, went through those pain points and was forced to put processes, tools and techniques in place to maintain its competitive advantage. Christian will provide insight into the processes that ultimately helped HP to streamline their supply chain and build a more robust one whilst maintaining profitability.

Could your organisation benefit from his insight and get outsourcing right first time?

Over the course of the 2-day event, you will have the opportunity to listen and have your challenges addressed by over 30 VP’s, CSO’s and Senior Directors on a range of strategic and operational topics including:

      • Creating a collaborative supplier/customer partnership
      • Developing talent to deliver supply chain innovation
      • Supply chain collaboration - building flexibility throughout the supply chain
      • Supply chain strategy in the boardroom
      • Balancing sustainability with profitability within the extended supply chain
