      Job ResponsibilitiesIn-flight wireless broadband, military communication, VoIP… These are just a few of the innovative ways that our technology is a part of millions of lives daily all around the world.  The Supply Chain Manager role is a vital part of what we do and will be key in the launch and growth of our new businesses and products.

      As ViaSat’s Supply Chain Manager, you will lead and manage corporate procurementstrategy for general procurement categories such as information technology and professional services. You’ll partner with other functional department managers to establish strategic objectives and provide direction to resolve key tactical, strategic sourcing and operational issues. In this role, you will work with complex functional areas and corporate level issues requiring detailed analysis and knowledge of the IT industry, as well as procurement and supply chain best practices and tools.  Come on board and use your experience managing projects focused on business processes and systems to support transformation and scalability initiatives. You’ll make supply chain decisions that increase corporate advantage while reducing and mitigating corporate risks. Your ability to communicate across all levels internal to ViaSat as well as externally with our customers and vendors will be vital to the success of this position.

       

      Experience/Skills

      Requirements:

        • 5+ years directly applicable supply chain experience in government procurement environment
        • Experience with leading process improvement teams (e.g. Lean Six-Sigma {LSS}) and driving significant process enhancements
        • Proven experience with detailed data analysis leading to strategic recommendations and decisions
        • Strategic Sourcing & Request for Quote/Proposal/Information and SOW development, as well as cost savings analysis and supplier relationship management
        • Experience with negotiating supplier agreements and knowledge of Domestic and International Terms & Conditions
        • M/S Office and Major ERP System, including Web-Based Supplier Interface; Experience with Web-Based IT Applications
        • Bachelor’s Degree with focus in Operations, Supply Chain, or related field
        • US government position. US citizenship required.
        • Ability to travel up to 10%

        Preferred:

        • MBA (or MS/MA) with focus in Operations, Supply Chain or related field
        • Experience with FAR and DFAR
        • LSS Green Belt or higher
      • Oracle and Agile
