SCM30: Kinaxis Explores 30 Years of Supply Chain Management

Though supply chain management concepts have been around since the turn of the last century, this year marks the 30th anniversary of the term “supply chain management.” Keith Oliver, a consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton, coined the term in 1982.

To commemorate this milestone, throughout 2012, Kinaxis will explore the past, present, and future of supply chain management. You’ll see the SCM30 tag and logo on a variety of multi-media pieces from Kinaxis in 2012. And you’ll have plenty of opportunity to share your thoughts on where supply chain management has been, where it is now, and where the future will take us.

Our first SCM30 discussion question launches on March 12 in the "Discuss Supply Chain" forum here on the community, and a new question will be posted every other Monday during the next few months. You'll see a blog post on the same topic on the Friday of the following week on the 21st Century Supply Chain blog. Feedback from the discussion thread will be incorporated into the blog post, so weigh in, and your thoughts may be published!
