Demand Planning, Kinexions '10, Bob May, senior product manager, Kinaxis

Version 2

Consensus demand planning is a critical function in most organizations. The demand plan must be as accurate as possible because it forms the basis for important future activities that take place within the supply planning organization, as well as within the sales, marketing and new product development groups. Consensus demand planning involves collecting inputs from multiple groups, both quantitative and qualitative; examining and rationalizing those inputs in light of past performance, as well as a statistical, objective model of demand; and approving a statement of unconstrained demand that will be communicated to the supply organization.
